Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Morning Worship
“Ancient Truths for Modern Times: Old Testament Overview”.
Our focus this Sunday will be on Hannah’s Prayer in 1 Samuel 2,
with a message entitled, When God Says “Yes”.
We will highlight Disability Awareness Sunday with a Children’s message and Ministry Update from Becci Timmer.  Rev. Brad Diekema will also bring us greetings from the great state of Washington.

Fall Prayer Commitment:
1. Pray for new people to experience God’s love and step into a relationship with Jesus.
2. Ask God that we will experience a deeper connection with Jesus through worship and community.
3. Pray for our faith to be stretched and grow so that we can become more like Jesus.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for those living with hunger or food insecurity.   Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:00 PM – Evening Worship
We begin a new four-part series on Fasting.
1. Fasting: To Offer Ourselves to God
2. Fasting: To Grow in Holiness
3. Fasting: To Amplify our Prayers
4. Fasting: To Stand with the Poor

Fasting is one of the most essential and powerful of all the practices of Jesus and, arguably, the single most neglected one in the modern, Western church. The Fasting Practice will train you in this ancient discipline, integrating your whole body into life with God.
Fasting is the third of nine spiritual practices that we are studying over 4.5 years.  We spend four Sunday evenings on each practice with the help of the Practicing the Way curriculum.  We learn about one practice in January/February and another in September/October.  Here is a list of the nine spiritual practices.

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
