Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
Seeing with our Hearts
This Sunday, our GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) girls club will lead us in worship and give thanks to God for another season of growing under the theme from Micah 6:8, ACT, LOVE, WALK.  Pastor Dan will preach from Micah 6:6-8 under the theme: “Seeing with our Hearts.”  Pastor Bob, as part of the Church Renewal Lab, is attending the pastor’s conference, “More and Better Disciples”.
This Sunday is the first Sunday of the season of Lent that helps us prepare to remember the sufferings of Jesus on the cross and the resurrection of Jesus from the grave.  Our church-wide Bible Engagement begins again this Sunday with the Gospel of John – see the bulletin insert online or in person.  Finally, consider this challenge during the season of Lent to fast from your phone or from social media for one 24-hour period per week for the next six weeks.  You might consider turning off your phone or fasting from social media from Saturday at 6:00 PM to Sunday at 6:00 PM or any 24-hour period of your choosing.  Use this “space” to listen to God, turn your heart to Him, and obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings to share God’s love with those around you.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:00 PM – Sunday Evening Worship

The Gospel Transcends All Barriers
Our seminary intern, Kang Heo, will lead us for the first time with a message from Matthew 15:21-28, “The Gospel Transcends All Barriers.”  It is our privilege to encourage, support and train the next generation of Christian leaders and pastors.  Let us worship our great God together in word and worship and prayer.

.
Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
