Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
A Weary World Rejoices: EXHAUSTION
We will remember the reason for the season when we are weary from exhaustion.
This Sunday we continue the season of Advent that calls us “to meditate on the three “comings” of Christ: his birth at Bethlehem, his coming into our lives today, and his final coming at the end of time.”  Jesus’ words in Matthew 11 are an antidote to exhaustion.
Our Sunday School students along with Stephanie Green will bless us with music ministry and a surprise ending to our worship gathering.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:30 and 6:00 PM – Live Nativity

At 5:30 and 6:00 PM, we are hosting our Live Nativity outside on the front lawn here at church. We will be acting out the Luke 2 story while having live animals for kids to both see and pet. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to invite family, friends, or neighbors to attend with you. You will find invitation cards in your church mailbox or in the back of the church. Take some time and pray about who God might be calling you to invite. Join us for a great night. Donuts, hot chocolate, and gifts for the kids will be provided.
7:00 PM – Burgess Brothers Fundraising Concert

A workgroup is going on January 21 – 28 to New Bern, North Carolina to work on hurricane relief from Hurricane Florence in 2018. If you are interested in going, there is a signup sheet in the Fellowship Room, or contact Ron Rodenhouse at or 616-862-9882. The deadline to signup is December 21.

The Burgess Brothers will be in concert at Heritage on December 11 at 7:00 pm.
An offering will be taken for the disaster relief trip to North Carolina.

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
