A Weary World Rejoices: Worry
We will remember the reason for the season when we are weary of worry.
This Sunday we continue the season of Advent that calls us “to meditate on the three “comings” of Christ: his birth at Bethlehem, his coming into our lives today, and his final coming at the end of time.”  Mary’s example in Luke 1 reminds us how to live with worry and worship simultaneously.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

Mystery in a Manger – For Kids and Adults of all Ages

Who doesn’t like a good mystery? A mystery where you don’t know the answer until the very end of the story. Or those times when you spend hours in a small room with a group of friends trying to figure out the clues to solve a game and then manage your escape.

The Christmas story can also be thought of as a mystery. The Bible gives over 300 clues about Christ’s birth, life, and death – hundreds of years before – to prove that Jesus was the Messiah. Tonight, we will gather in the ARK and we will be looking at Old Testament prophecies that were fulfilled through Jesus’ birth. Each prophecy is a clue to solve the mystery of the baby lying in the manger. Each clue is God telling us that He had His hand in the story all along.

Here’s how this will work:

Each table will have a number that will tell you the clue you need to solve.

Each table has 3 boxes. The smallest box is the list of clues. The middle box is the solve box. Do not open that box until instructed to do so!  The largest box is saved for the end. You can work with your table on your table’s clue. Once you have solved your clue, you can work on the other ones listed.

Our gathering will also include the ARK Advantage, which is an extended time of fellowship over a delicious snack in the middle of our time together.  Get ready to solve the Mystery in a Manger!

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
