Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
Refurbished Sanctuary is Open!
We are grateful to God for blessing us with the fresh beauty and improved function of a refurbished sanctuary to gather to worship Him and to lift up the name of Jesus above every other name for another generation.  While a few details still need to be completed, we are so excited to welcome you back to worship in the sanctuary and worship in the ARK (with tables again) this Sunday.
Thank you to all the volunteers and to our staff for leading and serving us throughout the remodeling and renovation and making it possible for us to worship in the ARK and the Fellowship Room during the past 4 months.  Special thanks to Craig Cunningham, Jay Miedema, and Tom Wychers who have led and stewarded this project over the past 5 years.
This Sunday we continue our series on the Four Essentials of Church Renewal – Abiding, Vision, Leadership, and Health.  Part 2 of 2 on Vision will help us see the church through the lenses of Grace, Transformation, and Resurrection.  Matthew 28:1-10 and 16-20 will shape us.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we will hear a ministry update from our Selah Empowers ministry through whom God is caring and supporting those who have experienced the painful brokenness of violence and abuse.

Note 1:
We are planning on our rededication of the sanctuary and church-wide lunch on Sunday, October 30.

Note 2:
Our Church-wide Bible Engagement plan started on September 18 with the Book of Acts as part of our participation in the Church Renewal Lab.  Click HERE to get the plan and jump into the readings today!

Note 3: Looking ahead to October 30 – at our 5:00 PM worship gathering entitled, “For All the Saints”, there will be an opportunity to light a candle and share a word in honor and memory of a loved one or family member who is no longer with us.  Our Scripture will be Hebrews 11-12, remembering the ancient saints and those of our generation.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:00 PM Sunday Evening Worship
As we gather for worship, prayer, the study of God’s Word, and Christian fellowship, Romans chapter 10 will be our focus as we continue our series on Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Rome.  “Unbelief and Simple Faith” is the message that we will explore as we examine both the unbelief and belief of God’s ancient people and consider how things are the same and different today.

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
