Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
Four Essentials of Church Renewal
Our new sermon series continues on the Four Essentials of Renewal: Abiding-Vision-Leadership-Health.  This Sunday is part 2 of 2 on “Abiding” and we will learn from Jesus’ words in John 17 under the theme of Abiding Through Prayer.  This series is in sync with Heritage’s participation in the Church Renewal Lab along with 9 other churches which started on Saturday, September 17.
We will welcome our new seminary intern, Kang Heo who is from South Korea.  Kang is a student at Calvin Seminary and has been in the United States for about 3 weeks.
Our worship gathering will conclude with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

You are invited to Saturate the Sanctuary Stage with Scripture before the carpet is placed this week.  Gather in the sanctuary after worship and write out your favorite Scripture verse and/or your name on the sanctuary stage.

Note 1:
Currently, we are planning on our first Sunday back in the Sanctuary for October 9.
and we are planning on our rededication of the sanctuary and church-wide lunch on October 30.

Note 1:
We are planning on a church wide Bible reading plan starting on September 18 with the Book of Acts as part of our participation in the Church Renewal Lab.

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:00 PM Sunday Evening Worship
Our series on Paul’s Letter to the Romans will continue this Sunday.  Romans is sometimes called the “Fifth Gospel” because it tells the story of Jesus through principles instead of pictorially like in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  We will explore Romans 8 which is the golden gem of Paul’s letter to the church.  Romans 8 is the favorite chapter of many.

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
