Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
“Jailhouse Rocks” from Acts 16:16-34
What happens to faith under severe pressure?  The answer might surprise you.  In Acts 16, we journey with God to see leaders of his early church beaten and imprisoned, and then there is an earthquake.  What happens next is truly miraculous?  Do you think that God could work a miracle of faith out of severe circumstances today?  We will find out together.
We will also offer our congratulations to our graduates and our thanks to our great army of volunteers who are advancing Christ’s kingdom in our church, community and the world!  No celebration would be complete without some ice cream bars!

Sanctuary Renewal Project.  We encourage you to consider giving a gift during the month of May to help fully fund this exciting opportunity to refresh and enhance our sanctuary stage, sound, and function!

Reminder: Bring a non-perishable food item for the food distribution ministry with our friends and neighbors at Byron Village.  Place it on the table in the Fellowship Room.

5:00 PM – Sunday Evening Worship
We continue our exploration of The Letter to Romans – a.k.a. the Fifth Gospel.  As we wrap up chapter 3,  we discover God’s answer to the Sad Bad News of our shared Human Crisis.  It seems too good to be true.  God found another way!

Summer Worship in the ARK
Our Sanctuary Renewal Project is set to begin on Monday, June 13.  We will worship in the ARK from Sunday, June 19 through the end of August/beginning of September.  Our staff and volunteers are making plans for our transition.  If you would like to help us in the process, please call the church office (616.878.1992) or contact one of our staff members.

SummerSongs! – Send your Suggestions!
This summer, our morning worship services will focus our hearts on the book of Psalms – our biblical songbook or prayer, praise, and lament.  The Psalms are the favorites of many Christians.  We would love to focus on your most beloved Psalms.  There are not enough weeks in the summer to examine all 150 Psalms.  That’s where you come in.  Please send in your top 1, 2, or 3 favorite Psalms for consideration this summer.  Simply email or text Pastor Bob your suggestions and we will choose from the totals of your recommendations.  bhuisman@heritagecrc.net or 616.682.7685

Thank You for your Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings
Thank you for your generosity to Christ’s Church.  We encourage you to prioritize your local church in your giving because the local church is the bride of Christ, and Jesus is the hope of the world.  We excel in the grace of giving when we honor God with our time, our treasures, and our talents.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
