9:30 AM Sunday Morning Worship
The world around us is shaking? Where can we find a reliable foundation? As we celebrate our GEMS Girls Club Ministry this Sunday, we will explore the truth of their theme found in Psalm 62:2, “Unshakeable”. “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
Next Sunday, March 6,
Discover Heritage New Members Class from 11:00-11:45 AM
11:00 AM Super Snacks and Signature Stories
Sundays, Feb 13, 20 and 27 from 11:00-11:45.
Are you interested in helping our community grow stronger in authentic relationships?
If you are willing to share a 5-minute story from your life of how God used a person or event to shape you into the person you are today, Super Snacks and Signature Stories is for you. Each week you will get to hear the stories of two other people. This group will break up into triads (three people) and each one will share a signature story from his/her life. Each person gets 5 minutes to share and 5 minutes to discuss with your triad. Everyone gets super snacks! If you come all three weeks, you will get to hear 6 signature stories from our community. Contact Pastor Bob Huisman with any questions at 616.682.7865 or bhuisman@heritagecrc.net.
5:00 PM – Sunday Evening Worship
“JOY”. “I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart” one song begins. Does joy make you happy? Does happiness bring you joy? This Sunday, we begin a four-part study of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi. The book of Philippians is often referred to as the New Testament letter of joy; the word “joy” in its various forms occurs 16 times in four chapters. As we begin this study, we will review the relationship between happiness and joy and remember the truth that you can have one without the other.
Ash Wednesday, March 2, 6:30-7:00 PM
The Christian season of Lent begins on Wednesday, March 2. In this season, we are called to focus on confession and repentance and the suffering of our Savior. In the weeks leading up to Easter, we will focus on Following Jesus and God’s Kingdom Revealed.
To begin the season of Lent, we are hosting a brief Ash Wednesday service from 6:30-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2 including the opportunity to receive the imposition of ashes (the sign of the cross made with a mixture of ashes from last years Palm Sunday palms and oil) on the forehead or back of the hand. Ashes are a reminder of our mortality and sin and the sign of the cross is a symbol of God’s forgiveness and salvation.
Over 1 billion Christians around the world participate in the season of Lent!
The INVITATION – 30 Days to a Changed Life
The Invitation – 30 Days to a Changed Life
Start Date: Sunday, March 6. Gathering Dates: Sundays March 13, 20 and 27 from 11:00-11:45
Are you interested in helping our community grow stronger in faith?
God is inviting you to a daily time with Him. The invitation is for 30 consecutive days of responding to the Father’s invitation to know him. Take the 30-day challenge to a deeper walk with God.
Life today is like whitewater rafting. The demands of work, social media, family, and friends push and pull us in multiple directions. The Invitation is a devotional booklet from the Navigators Church Resources that will help you learn four simple disciplines to practice a daily time with God:
Stop, Look, Listen and Respond.
Each day there is a single Bible verse or two to read and the following questions to answer:
“Lord, where’s my heart today?”
“Lord help me discover new truth from your Word today.”
“Lord, what is your thought for me today from your Word?”
“Lord what do I need to talk with Your about?”
“Lord, what are you asking me to do?”
When we gather, we will break up into triads (3 people) to discuss something that God has drawn our attention to during the past week of readings/reflection/devotion.
The Invitation begins on the first Sunday of Lent, March 6.

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:12-14
