Message From Pastor Bob Huisman

Gathering ONLINE this Sunday, November 22
In response to the coronavirus surge and the recommendations of our local medical experts, the Heritage CRC Council has suspended all indoor activities through November 28.  A letter from the Council was emailed to the congregation and is available on our website, our Facebook page, and at the end of this email.  Therefore, we will gather Online Only for Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday Night Connect, and Thanksgiving Worship.

Sunday Morning Worship at 9:30 AM
Zealous for the Lord!”.  That is the main idea from our Scripture lesson this Sunday!  We welcome Brad and Naomi, our medical missionary partners from Central Asia.  Brad will open God’s word with us from I Kings 19:1-18.
We will gather online at 9:30 AM for the Facebook Premier of our pre-recorded morning worship service.  You can also access the worship services on our website at hertiagecrc.net.  The services remain available for on-demand viewing.

Sunday Night CONNECT at 5:00 PM
This Sunday we conclude our review of the Gospel of John.  If you have never seen a Bible Project video, get ready to connect with an incredible bible study resource that is available for free for the world!  We will conclude our study of the Gospel of John with John-Part 2 this Sunday evening.

Thanksgiving Worship – Online
Almost 50 friends and family members of Heritage CRC shared their testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness to them in 2020.  These will be beautifully wrapped with music and prayer and conclude with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper.  (Reminder to prepare your bread and cup)  We will be making our Thanksgiving Worship Gathering available on our website at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25 for those who would like to worship with family or friends on Thanksgiving Eve.  Our service will premier on Facebook at 9:30 AM on Thanksgiving Day morning.  It will remain available for on-demand viewing on both Facebook and our website.

November 11 Letter from the Heritage Council

Dear Heritage Christian Reformed Church and Friends,          November 11, 2020

Due to the rapidly increasing positive cases of COVID in our area and within our church families, last night our Council decided to suspend all indoor activities until November 29. We did not come to this decision lightly or unadvisedly.  We have been in discussion with our local physicians over the last several days and believe this is a wise decision at this time for our congregation.

This means our worship services for November 15 and 22 along with our Thanksgiving Day worship service on the 26th will not be available in person but will be available online.

All other activities such as Youth Ministries, Sunday School, Catechism, Coffee Break, GEMS, Cadets, Bible study groups, etc. will be paused as well.

Our desire as a Council and staff is to worship together in person.  We are hoping we can gather together in person for the season of Advent.

Our Council of elders and deacons will be meeting again in a few weeks to discuss the current COVID climate at that time, with a hope of worshipping together on November 29 in person.

We ask for your continued prayers for our staff, Council, and ministry leaders.  Please pray for health and healing for the many who have tested positive.  Ask God to bless our many health care workers with safety and the strength and wisdom needed to do their jobs during this surge.

This season, sometimes referred to simply as “COVID”, has lasted longer than any of us have expected.  As a Council, we want to thank you for your patience, flexibility, generosity and many prayers.

God is good.
God is faithful.
God is in control.
To Him be the glory – now and forever.

Jim Oosterman,
On behalf of the Heritage Christian Reformed Church Council

Pastor Bob Huisman
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14
