SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24
A unique blessing awaits you.  After a stroke took much of the right side of his brain, Glen VanderKooi has memorized Paul’s letter to the Romans.  Yes, all 16 chapters.  He has agreed to share four of those chapters with us on Sunday as part of our E100 series (Essential 100 stories of the Bible) that draws our attention this week to the Apostle Paul’s letters to the churches.
At 5:00, we continue our 3-part series on Relationships – Love.Honor.Cherish.  Pastor Bob Bolt will guide us on the theme of Honor and lead us in the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

ASH WEDNESDAY:
The Christian season of Lent begins on Wednesday, March 6.  In this season, we are called to focus on confession and repentance and the suffering of our Savior.  In the weeks leading up to Easter, we will focus on the “I AM” statements of Jesus – “I AM the bread of life”, ” I AM the light of the world”…
To begin the season of Lent, we are hosting a brief Ash Wednesday service from 6:30-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6 including the opportunity to receive the imposition of ashes (the sign of the cross made with a mixture of ashes from last years Palm Sunday palms and oil) on the forehead or back of the hand.  Ashes are a reminder of our mortality and sin and the sign of the cross is a symbol of God’s forgiveness and salvation.  While an Ash Wednesday service is not new to Christ’s church, it is new to Heritage and also to Pastor Bob Huisman.  We will host a service this year and evaluate whether we should do it again in the future.
