Isaiah 40:1-11

 “You who bring good tidings, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah,

‘HERE IS YOUR GOD!’”

Introduction – A story

Our God is in complete control – He calls the shots:

In his world

In his church

In our lives

Our God Saves and cares for us like a shepherd

Our sins have been paid for (vs. 2)

He tends his flock like a shepherd (vs. 11)

Our God renews all things

The first Advent points forward to the second Advent, the coming again of our Lord:

Every valley shall be raised up, the rough ground shall become level (vs. 4, 5)
