ASH WEDNESDAY

ASH WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday, February 26
6:30-7:00pm
Lent is a 40 day season of the Christian year in preparation for the celebration of Easter. The season of Lent imitates Jesus’ preparation for ministry by fasting in the wilderness for 40 days.
This Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, is the first day of Lent.
We will gather on Ash Wednesday at 6:30 for a brief (30 minute) service of remembering our mortality and acknowledging our sorrow for sin. This time of worship will provide the opportunity to receive the imposition of ashes in the sign of the cross on your forehead or your hand. When the ashes are imposed, one of the pastors will say to you, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return, but the steadfast love of the Lord endures forever.”
