Sunday Morning Worship, October 27, 9:30 AM
Pastor Bob Bolt will lead us with Part 3 of our “Seeking God’s Will” series with a look at the Pursuit of God’s Will: Silence & Scripture from Kings 19:11-14 and Psalm 19:7-11. SELAH, our ministry to victims of domestic violence, will offer a ministry update. Be ready for the possibility of some sights and sounds from the “Where U At?” Urban Youth Conference from last weekend with our missionary partners Henry and Jacque Bouma and the Heritage team of volunteers.
11:00-11:45 AM – Sunday Morning Conversation with Matt Spoelstra. Biblical Interpretation – Part 2 of 2. (You can join for part 2 even if you missed part 1) We are going to study the book of Galatians using an interpretive strategy to help shape and deepen our understanding of the text, spending most of our time diving into the text itself and discussing its various aspects. We will assess what our preunderstanding of the text, its interpretation, and what its core theology means for us as we find a modern application of the book. (Next Sunday, November 3 at 11:00 – Sunday Morning Prayer Summit in the Council Room)
Sunday Evening Worship, 5:00 PM
We are taking a break from our series on Isaiah in order to celebrate Reformation Sunday. A look at history will help us see why T.U.L.I.P. is not the whole story of the Reformation. The acronym F.A.I.T.H. will be introduced. And the grand expression of God’s grace from Ephesians 2:8-10 will call us anew to faith and love.
